Old West's Time

D< I am so upset. AT MYSELF. For a number of things, but for this piece in particular I am VERY UPSET because I didn't finish this sooner!

This is for my old friend who keeps commissioning me, along with her friend. I can't even remember when they asked me to do this but this went from commission to pure gift.

I'd like to think that I improved over the course of this picture, because it looks better in my opinion than the previous picture I did for her. But, I'm still very upset that it took me so long to finish it, which I feel really bad for. A number of things prevented me from finishing it sooner, but still, that doesn't make me any less upset.

However, being angry at myself aside, I'm kind of pleased with it. The main subject, my friend, seems to have turned out fairly well, but when I stand back from it I'm not entirely happy about the composition. Lately I've been trying to follow the rule of thirds but I don't know if this turned out too well. When you make something, you're kind of blind to a lot of things, huh? Shortcomings or strong points, and if you think about it, the whole picture as well. ... I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Anyway, as usual, constructive criticism is welcomed and encouraged, and if no such criticism is offered, I wholeheartedly thank everyone who is kind enough to pass by and take a look. Thank you!
